Creative Writing

All of our creative writing tutors are published novelists, essayists, and poets, as well as graduates of the leading writing programs in the country. Many are Harvard English Ph.D candidates, or hold MFA’s from the prestigious Iowa Writer’s Workshop. But more than anything else, they are passionate teachers of writing.

Our creative writing tutorials are designed to simulate the intensive workshops you would experience in college or a graduate program. Students generally work on either a series of short pieces (typically poems or short stories), or develop a longer text (such as a play or novel). We work with a wide range of students, including high school and college students who are comparatively new to creative writing, as well as adults who are looking for a mentor to help them finally produce that novel that’s been buried inside them all these years. We can also provide an objective critique or editorial assistance to more experienced writers.

Popular Subjects: The Short Story: the basics of plot, character, and theme, The Novel: structure and dramatic arc, Poetry Workshop, Playwriting, Screenplays and the three act structure, Creative Nonfiction
