Previously, she earned her BA in Chemistry and Earth and Planetary Sciences from Harvard College (magna cum laude).

Sonya is a joint JD-History PhD at Yale Law and Stanford. Prior to law school, she earned a BA in History (Washington University in St. Louis) and worked at a consulting firm in DC and at the Int'l Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva.
