Tutor with us

We’re always looking for amazing tutors. Since Cambridge Coaching was founded, we’ve employed countless talented graduate students. For most of our tutors, Cambridge Coaching makes sense for a few reasons:

  1. 1

The highest pay in the industry

We value talented educators and so do our students. Accordingly, we pay our tutors between $60 - $150/hr. To our knowledge, no tutoring company extends a greater share of its revenue to its employees. We believe in promoting our tutors and hiring people for the long run. Most of our tutors work with us throughout their graduate studies. Furthermore, we emphasize transparent financial processes. Your pay will always be clear and consistent (and prompt!).

  2. 2

    Flexible hours

Like many of our tutors, the founders of Cambridge Coaching have faced the challenge of writing dissertations while teaching undergraduates and planning ahead for a career in academia. We won’t cramp your style. If you’re a talented teacher, you can work as little or as much as you want. Some of our tutors work with one student per week, while others work with ten. It’s up to you. You can decide on jobs on a case-by-case basis.

  3. 3

    We make things simple

We believe that the only challenge associated with tutoring should be teaching the material effectively. We provide you with the best resources on the market and our platform makes scheduling simple. Your only obligation to our company is teaching your students with care and commitment.

  4. 4

The value proposition of our company is our tutors, and we treat them that way

Tutoring companies are really not much more than associations of tutors. The better the tutors, the better the company. As people who have done a lot of tutoring for big companies and small ones, we try to make the job easy, fun, and lucrative for you. We provide just enough training and support to launch you without being overbearing or intruding on your time with your student.

  5. 5

We help you become an even more talented teacher

The founders and Master tutors at Cambridge Coaching are accomplished teachers who have years of experience under their belts. We have served as Harvard Departmental Teaching Fellows, teaching fellows who train new teaching assistants, and we have earned university-wide recognitions for our teaching. Teaching is something we are passionate about and enjoy sharing with colleagues. Each tutor who joins us receives as much mentorship in her tutoring as she requires. We offer syllabi and course materials, as well as a safe resource for working through hitches in your tutoring. In short: we’ve got your back.

If you’re interested in tutoring for Cambridge Coaching, start by filling out the form below. A member of our team will contact you.

Note: We are a private company that is unaffiliated with any university, so we cannot hire graduate students who are in the U.S. on a student visa (for example, F-1). We require U.S. citizenship, green card, or work permitting visa to consider your application.

If you have served as a teaching assistant/fellow, please list the course(s) for which you have taught

For test prep tutors: please upload your score reports

For prospective humanities tutors and admissions coaches: Please upload two writing samples.

The ideal writing sample will evidence these qualities: clear and persuasive structure, agile use of diction, and flawless grammar, style and presentation. Please do NOT submit two published pieces or two pieces previously used for admissions purposes. We need to see how you write without the assistance of the innumerable helpers and editors involved in both publishing and any admissions process. Writing samples should be no longer than 500 words each, and should constitute reasonably self-sufficient pieces, though they can be thoughtfully selected fragments.
Please submit 3 teaching references. If you are a new teacher, you may submit references who will testify to your professionalism and potential as a teacher.
