Standardized Test Preparation

Customized syllabi, data tracking, and the smartest minds in test prep working together to raise your score.

Prepare on your own terms

Whatever standardized test you're preparing for, Cambridge Coaching can work with you to develop a plan that fits your schedule, budget and learning style. All of our tutoring is conducted one-on-one, either in-person or online, or a combination of both. There are no set group classes to attend, and you'll only focus on the areas that you need to focus on. Whether you need an overview of every aspect of a test, or intensive attention to just one section, we can design a program that will fit your needs.

Learn from the best (and the coolest)

Our tutors are the most talented and accomplished educators anywhere. They have scored in the top percentiles of any test they teach. They are effective communicators and cool people. They typically work with only a handful of students at any one time, so they are able to give complete attention to each person. Many of our tutors have left large national companies to work with us. Unlike other companies, we place a heavy emphasis on tutors' pay and their professional development as teachers. Although it seems like common sense that tutors are the most important part of a tutoring organization, most companies shortchange their tutors in order to reap greater profits. We consider our tutors to be our most important investment, and we have found that caring about our tutors allows us to hire and retain the very best.

Curated Materials

No matter the test, we always use official materials - materials distributed by the test writers - to help our students prepare. We believe that official materials provide the most realistic assessment of what students will encounter on test day. We also supplement official material with what we consider to be the best secondary sources on the market. We are always searching for the best materials available, and the resources that we use for each test change as new material is published. While some larger publishers do some things well, we also rely on boutique materials from smaller publishers. Because we are not invested in selling our materials, you can be sure we will only use materials that are effectively helping you - not promoting our brand.

Data-Driven Approach

Good tutors are not just high scorers themselves. They are also able to raise your scores by identifying and understanding your weaknesses. Interpreting and responding to new data is a critical aspect of teaching standardized tests, and it is the skill we cultivate most in our tutors. Your tutoring will begin with a diagnostic exam. The results of your diagnostic will inform the construction of your customized syllabus, a road-map that your tutor will continually update as he or she gathers more data about your strengths and weaknesses. We are constantly seeking innovative ways to incorporate data into the preparation process. For example, we recently partnered with a start-up founded at MIT to provide you with a diagnostic tool capable of predicting your SAT score in 30 minutes.
