Abhishek grew up in Pune, India. He attended college at UCLA where he started out studying engineering. After taking quantum mechanics as an elective during his second year, Abhishek fell in love with physics and has never looked back. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. in physics and moved to Harvard as a PhD candidate in theoretical physics. Abhishek has since spent the past five years trying to understand what happens when quantum mechanics and gravity meet by exploring the mysteries of black holes. He plans to continue research in physics after finishing his PhD later this year.
During graduate school Abhishek worked as a teaching assistant on both introductory and advanced physics courses, teaching Newtonian mechanics as well as general relativity. He has also mentored beginning graduate students, helping them prepare for research by guiding their study of relevant background material not covered in courses.
Abhishek enjoys explaining all manner of concepts in physics and math and working one on one with students of all levels. Outside of research you can find Abhishek reading, swimming or playing Nintendo.
