Andre was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In high school, his love of marine biology led him to complete his senior project on electricity-producing bacteria in marine sediments through a lab at Harvard University. He then attended Harvard College for his undergraduate degree, where he was on the Men’s Rowing Team and studied Integrative Biology and Human Evolutionary Biology with a focus on human biomechanics and energetics. He graduated magna cum laude with highest honors for a thesis in HEB. He then spent two years at the University of California, San Francisco doing breast cancer research related to the mRNA profile of high-risk breast tumors. Sad to leave the warm weather of the West Coast but glad to be coming home, Andre returned to Boston where he is now pursuing his MD at Harvard Medical School.
Andre has been a TA in multiple classes, teaching students in both high school and college. He loves helping students conquer difficult material and assisting them in achieving their goals. At Cambridge Coaching, Andre specializes in tutoring for the MCAT, and has extensive experience in the areas of chemistry, physics, and biology.
Outside of his academic studies, Andre loves exploring the world on his bike, both on and off-road. He enjoys rowing on the Charles, especially at sunset, and cooking baked treats with his family and friends. When not out and about, he relaxes by reading non-fiction or playing chess.
