Ben H.

Ben hails from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and bleeds Tar Heel blue accordingly. He left sweet tea and barbecue behind to attend Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, where he took the notion of a liberal arts education to heart and declared majors in eight subjects during his four years, eventually settling on a special interdisciplinary major of his own design in Anthropology and Creative Writing. Since graduating in 2012, he’s put his writing and research skills to work as a freelance investigative journalist in the West Bank and New York City, reporting on topics from corruption in international development to abuse of psychiatric patients.

Besides writing and English literature, Ben’s specialty is the LSAT. He scored a 177 in June 2016, including perfect scores on the Analytical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension sections.

When he’s not reporting or tutoring, Ben plays blues guitar and makes cocktails, harking back to when he worked as a bartender in Chicago for nine months after college. He also practices improvisational comedy and has spent whole weekends trying to perfect his pizza dough recipe.
