Ben is currently a dentist-in-training at Columbia University and commissioned officer in the United States Air Force. He was born and raised in small town Jersey close to the shore before heading down south for college. Ben graduated from Duke University with a BS in Evolutionary Anthropology in 2015. While in dental school, Ben manages dental services for the Columbia-Harlem Homeless Medical Partnership free clinic. He also works as a Fellow for Columbia Technology Ventures, assessing the commercial potential of promising inventions developed through Columbia research as well as facilitating patenting of intellectual property, and identifying industry partners for licensing. Additionally, Ben conducts research in bioinformatics and data analytics in oral health, and conducted scholarly work abroad on oral health disparities in Mumbai and New Delhi, India.
Ben has over seven years of tutoring experience and taught all kinds of students, including those with disabilities. He particularly welcomes students seeking help with chemistry, biology, mathematics, and test prep for the SAT, SAT Subject Tests, and the DAT. Ben also has experience teaching English as a Second Language throughout college to Latino immigrants and to middle school students in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
In his free time, Ben enjoys playing volleyball, theatre going (he’s seen over 15 shows on Broadway just this past year!), singing, and playing Super Smash Brothers Melee.
