Claire started tutoring when she herself was in high school, and she's been teaching ever since! After graduating as valedictorian, she left Ann Arbor (Go Blue!) for New York City, specifically Barnard College and Columbia University, where she tutored calculus and writing. She majored in American History, winning the Ellen Davis Goldwater prize for excellence in history, and minored in math. Since finishing college, she's tutored everything from elementary to graduate school, while continuing to pursue her other lifelong passion, dance.
Currently she is a Graduate Writing Fellow at Barnard College, and she teaches classes on writing and math at SEO Scholars, a free academic program for low-income high school students from all across NYC dedicated to equitable education. Her specialty is the personal statement, and her students have been accepted with full rides and full external scholarships to colleges around the country, as well as to medical school, public policy school, law school, and MFA programs.
When she's not teaching or dancing, she also works as a freelance writer, editor, and producer.
