Dana attended Middlebury College and majored in Neuroscience, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and valedictorian of the class of 2013. One of Dana’s favorite classes at Middlebury was “Philosophies of Mind”, a course that brings neuroscience and philosophy students together to read and debate philosophies of consciousness. Outside of academics, Dana competed for the Middlebury women’s cross country team, performed with Midd’s student-run musical theater group, and enjoyed lounging about with friends and exploring the beautiful Vermont countryside. After college, Dana worked for two years at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Her research focused on using stem cell technology to explore the biomolecular basis of Alzheimer’s disease. Dana is now a fourth-year student at Harvard Medical School and is passionate about pursuing a career dedicated to adolescent and young women’s health.
Dana worked as a tutor extensively throughout college, teaching students in Middlebury’s core science courses through the College’s Center for Teaching, Learning, and Research. Specifically, she tutored students enrolled in cellular biology and genetics, general chemistry, and organic chemistry courses. She also worked as a laboratory teaching assistant throughout her four years at Midd, primarily in organic chemistry and introductory biology courses. She was selected as the writing tutor and academic mentor for a cohort of fifteen first-year students enrolled in a required writing-intensive seminar on human reproductive technologies. Dana continues to serve as a peer tutor, working with first-year Harvard Medical School students requiring additional academic support in Harvard’s core physiology curriculum. Dana is highly involved in medical education at Harvard, and she is passionate about evidence-based teaching and learning methods. She loves the individualized learning environment that tutoring allows, and she is thrilled to be tutoring with Cambridge Coaching.
Dana’s tutoring strengths include biology, general chemistry, scientific writing, and test preparation for the PSAT, SAT, MCAT, and USMLE exams. She also enjoys both college and medical school admissions coaching.
Outside of her studies, Dana can be found running along the Charles River, hiking with her fiancé and their labradoodle, and exploring Boston with friends.
