Danielle graduated cum laude from Clemson University, where she received her BS in Psychology and Global Politics. While at Clemson, Danielle spent two years working with a Professor of Psychology where she contributed to research on barriers to seeking psychological treatment among college students. After graduating in December 2010, Danielle spent three months living in a foster care home for Native American children in Lame Deer, Montana. In June 2011, Danielle joined Teach For America (TFA) as a Charlotte Corps Member where she taught high school math, including for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. After two years in the classroom, Danielle transitioned into the business sector as an Executive Recruiter where she coached top candidates across multiple industries. While working as a recruiter, Danielle simultaneously launched her own College Advising Program for former first generation students to prepare them to navigate the complexities of the college admission process. As founder and Director of the organization, Danielle successfully coached all students into one of their top three preferences ranging from small liberal arts schools to the Ivy League. In addition, Danielle successfully coached the students into receiving multiple merit-based scholarships including four year, full tuition awards. In July 2015, Danielle joined Democracy Prep’s Harlem High School as the Founding College Counselor. In this role, she has designed and executes the College Readiness curriculum for the school and is responsible for guiding all 70 seniors through the college application process, from considering which schools to apply to through supporting persistence and success at the school of their choice.
From executives to students, Danielle has experience coaching the creation of strong resumes to most authentically represent the individual. Danielle believes that every student has a compelling story to tell and coaches students on identifying their story and then crafting an essay to best represent their narrative. From thoughtfully selecting words for the Activity Section, to following up on a Letter of Recommendation request, Danielle supports students throughout every aspect of the college application process.
When not reading about all aspects of the college admissions process, Danielle can be found in Central Park either loving on her yellow lab, Henry, or training for her first NYC Marathon this November.
