David is originally from Bogota, Colombia and grew up in the South Florida area. He went to the University of Miami where he was named overall outstanding senior in the College of Arts and Sciences with a 4.0/4.0 GPA. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology with a minor in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Health Sector Policy and Management. He is currently a medical student at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and is finishing a dual degree Masters in biomedical engineering.
David has been teaching throughout his whole life. In high school and college, David has provided private tutoring to many students in biology, chemistry, physics, and math. In the University of Miami, he led various student workshops for biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry classes. He taught the undergraduate microbiology lab course at UMiami for almost 2 years as well. At Columbia, David is part of the school’s curriculum committee and has worked as an educator in the student success network providing review sessions to junior medical students in physiology as well as private anatomy tutoring to students requiring more personalized assistance. At Cambridge Coaching, David specializes in academic tutoring, USMLE preparation, and medical school admissions coaching.
Outside of his studies, David is an avid athlete focused on calisthenics and weight lifting. Most of the time, he can be found eating the latest dessert trend at NYC restaurants or binge-watching an innumerable amount of shows online.
