David grew up in a small suburb of Providence, Rhode Island, and was excited to leave it all behind for the big city life in NYC. At Columbia, he majored in Biochemistry with a concentration in Mathematics, and was awarded departmental honors and a Science Research Fellowship for his research in cancer biology. He hopes to continue his research as a current M.D./Ph.D. candidate at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
David has tutored for the past 7 years, working with students both short-term for high-stakes test prep as well as longitudinally over the course of their high school careers. Regarding test prep, he specializes in the SAT, ACT, SAT Subject Tests, AP Exams, and MCAT and has helped his students achieve near-perfect scores on these exams. He also works with students on crafting their college applications; his past students have gone on to attend top colleges such as Harvard, UPenn, Cornell, UCBerkeley, Carnegie Mellon, Wharton, and Juilliard. His personal qualifications include 100th percentile scores on the SAT (2390), SAT Subject Tests (800 on 3 exams), and MCAT (526 - among the top 50 scorers of the 65,000 annual test-takers).
Outside of tutoring, David enjoys running, lifting weights, and enjoying good coffee and desserts.
