Deirdre D.

Originally from Massachusetts, Deirdre earned a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Languages from the College of the Holy Cross, a Master’s degree in Classical Languages from Villanova University, where she was a tuition scholar, and a Master’s degree in Differentiated Instruction from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Deirdre is a Latin enthusiast who loves to share her fascination with language and classical literature with her students. She has been teaching Latin and ancient Greek for over twenty years, and has taught Latin in both private schools and public schools. Deirdre also has extensive online teaching and curriculum development experience.

Deirdre has taught Latin at the introductory through Advanced Placement (AP) level. Her passion is for making Latin and classical literature accessible and relevant to all students. Her strengths lie not only in subject matter expertise, but also in building relationships with her students, identifying their strengths, and creating a positive, productive atmosphere for learning.  This drives her instruction.

In her spare time, Deirdre loves to run, do yoga, explore new walking trails with her dogs, spend time with her children, and meditate.
