Denice has lived in a total of 7 states throughout her life, but she is currently settled in New York while she pursues her MD at Columbia University VP&S. Half of her family is from Belize, a country in a small corner of Central America, and the other half is from Guam, a teeny tiny island in the middle of the Pacific. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania studying neuroscience and psychology. When she was not in the lab dissecting fly brains, she was in the classroom teaching and tutoring students of all ages, levels, and backgrounds. During her gap year before medical school, she traveled across East Asia, taught English in Qingdao, and substitute taught everything from kindergarten PE to high school history.
Denice has many years of teaching and tutoring experience in the subjects of chemistry, biology, mathematics, anatomy/physiology, and more. At Cambridge Coaching, she specializes in medical school admissions preparation and pre-medical coursework. She deeply enjoys sharing her insights on how to best tackle the daunting application process and helping her students get into their dream medical school.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, biking, exploring, and making her way through the New York food scene. She is open to recommendations!
