Bio

Ellen graduated cum laude with a BA in biology and a minor in environmental studies from Dartmouth College. After graduating from Dartmouth, Ellen worked at Industrial Economics, Inc. an environmental consulting firm in Cambridge, MA. While there, she worked on data analysis and mapping for natural resource damage assessment contracts for the federal government. Currently, Ellen is a master’s student at UC Berkeley studying city and environmental planning.

Ellen loves teaching and has enjoyed working as a Graduate Student Instructor during her time at UC Berkeley. She was a teaching assistant for two environmental science courses, including the senior research seminar for undergraduates, where she served as a mentor and adviser for 15 students as they worked on individual year-long research projects.  Ellen’s core strengths include quantitative and qualitative data analysis, scientific writing, statistics, and spatial analysis (GIS).

Outside of work, Ellen loves hiking, biking, ultimate frisbee, and basketball. She also loves playing board games and lawn games with friends and testing out new recipes for baked goods!
