Emily E.


A Midwest transplant, before coming to Cambridge, Emily attended Carleton College where she spent many hours exploring the college’s arboretum and majored in French and Francophone Studies. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and with distinction in her major and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Having fallen in love with French language and literature in college—including during two semesters spent studying in Paris—she is currently pursuing a doctorate in French literature at Harvard.

Emily starting teaching as a TA for French language classes at Carleton, where she also worked as a writing tutor for the college’s summer writing program. Before coming to Cambridge, she spent a year teaching English to high-schoolers in small-town France. Now she teaches French language classes at Harvard and loves working with students and sharing her passion for languages with them.

When not buried in books, Emily enjoys cooking, running, playing the flute, and attempting to coax her garden to grow.
