Hassan grew up in the suburbs of Albany, NY where he spent his youth enduring northeastern winters, before inexplicably deciding to remain in the northeast to attend the University of Rochester on a Dean’s Scholarship. Hassan majored in biochemistry and minored in economics, graduating in 2018 with a 3.72 GPA. He completed a DeKiewiet Fellowship over the summer in Rochester, when the weather is actually quite nice. Hassan is currently pursuing an MD at the Boston University School of Medicine, where he conducts research in Orthopedic surgery and works in East Boston with the Outreach Van Project.
Hassan worked extensively as a tutor and workshop leader in the biological sciences during his time at the University of Rochester, covering an array of topics including genetics and biochemistry. His main focus as a tutor is MCAT preparation (523), drawing from his background in both biology and chemistry, as well as his enjoyment of reading.
In his free time, Hassan enjoys playing basketball, both at the gym and on the Xbox. He also enjoys attempting to cook new recipes, often with quite unique results.
