Ian grew up and went to high school in Lima, Peru. After graduation, he moved to Australia to study Economics and Finance at the University of Melbourne, specializing in quantitative analysis in economics and numerical techniques. Although he completed the honors in economics program, intended for people who want to pursue a PhD, he decided to return to Lima to start a job at PwC as a Deals analyst for their advisory practice. After that, he transitioned into banking, to finally end up in the food industry (his passion). Ian recently obtained his MBA from Columbia Business School (CBS), where he was involved in the Hermes Society, a student-run organization to guide and connect prospective CBS students. As such, he has participated in information sessions, student chats and collaborated with the admissions team. He is experienced in helping people navigate through the MBA admissions process.
Ian’s strengths are in economics, finance, accounting and applied statistical analysis. Professionally, he is proficient in financial modeling using MS Excel, effectively presenting to senior business leaders, and interview processes.
Outside of work, Ian enjoys trying different cuisines and developing his cooking skills. He is currently watching a number of cooking channels on YouTube and is always on the look for a good movie on Netflix. His native language is Spanish.
