Jacob is the only student ever to have graduated Columbia University with a double Major in Playwriting and Astrophysics. In high school, Jacob was a science nerd, taking college classes in multivariable calculus and quantum mechanics as well as scoring a 5 on 10 different AP tests. At Columbia, he was Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. He was also a two-time recipient of the King’s Crown Leadership Award for his work in the community. He is now pursuing an MFA in Playwriting at NYU Tisch, and has won several commendations, including the New York International Fringe Festival Excellence in Playwriting award.
Jacob started tutoring Math & Science in high school before branching out to English, History and standardized testing as well. In addition to tutoring, he has worked teaching underprivileged kids in New York and the San Francisco Bay area. Coming from a theater background, Jacob specializes in explaining ideas efficiently, connecting with students, and inspiring love for the beauty of new ideas.
Outside of tutoring, Jacob spends most of his time writing. He is currently working on a movie about a high-tech heist in Silicon Valley as well as a play about global warming and denatured proteins.
