Before migrating to New York City, Jacob graduated with a BA in Economics and minors in English and Business from Cornell University. After undergrad, Jacob was an editor and staff writer for a Brooklyn-based music publication for one year, writing reviews and covering music news, new releases, and live shows. Jacob was inspired to conjoin his interest in music with his literary endeavors, conducting research in the fields of jazz studies, avant-garde aesthetics, and African American literature. He went on to receive an MA in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University.
Jacob has tutored extensively, working with adult learners and students in high school and college from all backgrounds. At Cambridge Coaching, Jacob specializes in the GRE. Jacob has also tutored widely in the humanities, including essay writing, proofreading, and literary studies, and in mathematics, including algebra, pre-calculus, statistics and probability, and econometrics.
Outside of school, Jacob is an avid reader and writer (of predominantly philosophy and poetry, respectively), jazz enthusiast, prolific city walker, and stand-up comedy fan.
