Jamie was originally born in Seoul, South Korea, but grew up in the sunny state of California. She graduated magna cum laude from UCSD (Phi Beta Kappa) and worked as a scribe prior to matriculation at Boston University’s MD program. Her main subjects of interest throughout her undergraduate career included global health research in AIDS and volunteering with underserved populations, and they continue to fuel her passion towards medicine today.
Learning and teaching have always been hugely important parts of Jamie’s life, as she worked as a teaching assistant for a biochemistry class at her undergraduate institution and volunteered with Schools on Wheels, a non-profit organization dedicated to tutoring children from homeless families. Her strengths include biology, chemistry, biochemistry, and MCAT preparation, but she has experience working with elementary and middle school students as well.
In her spare time, you can usually find her following her favorite eSports teams and streamers, learning new martial arts, or sketching wildlife.
