Jeff is an MS candidate in Computer Science at New York University, concentrating on Machine Learning. Prior to beginning graduate school, Jeff received his BA in East Asian Languages and Cultures summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University, where he was active in theater and worked as a freelance tutor through the Computer Science department.
He has tutored professionally for over ten years in a wide range of subjects including test prep (SAT, GRE, LSAT, SAT Subject Tests), US and World history (AP and SAT levels), lab sciences (physics, chemistry, and biology), and mathematics (from algebra through calculus). In addition, he has several years' experience as a writer and editor of standardized tests, both for published practice materials and for administered exams, principally at the high school level, and he has undertaken revisions of curricula and textbooks in life sciences, chemistry, and ecology.
Apart from tutoring, Jeff enjoys reading and music, and has strong opinions about films.
