John S.

As a Long Islander, John has always dreamed of living in the Big Apple. In addition to an undergraduate degree in Business Management and MS in Accounting at Stony Brook University, he took his bruises playing Rugby, strummed his way into becoming a better musician, and fed his coffee addiction as a barista while earning a 3.9/4.0 graduate GPA and being honored as the university’s College of Business Commencement Speaker. John will be starting his MBA at Columbia in Fall 2021.

Following internships at the Office of Senator Charles E. Schumer and at a mid-sized accounting firm on Long Island, John began his career at KPMG. Knowing that an MBA was in his long-term future, he earned his CPA during his Master’s studies and hit the ground running at KPMG, starting the Long Island Office K-Class initiative. For his work, John has been recognized as a high performer.

John’s core strengths as a tutor are in test preparation for the GMAT, accounting, and MBA admissions. He enjoys music production, physical fitness, and meeting up with friends and colleagues in NYC.
