Born and raised in the suburbs of Houston, Texas, Jon considers himself more of a New Yorker after living in the Big Apple for the past five years. He graduated from Columbia University in 2016, where he double majored in Biochemistry and History (B.A., magna cum laude). Jon is currently a medical student at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons.
As an undergraduate student, Jon was as a teaching assistant for an Introductory Biology course as well as a Biochemistry course, where he taught weekly recitations and enjoyed making his own test and quiz questions. In medical school, Jon remains committed to helping others learn, and serves as a leader of P&S Lang Youth, an enrichment program that mentors and tutors eighth and ninth grade students interested in a career in medicine.
When he’s not in the lab or cramming for an exam, Jon is likely to be found bouldering in climbing gyms around the city, rehearsing lines for his medical school theater group (the Bard Hall Players), or feeding the enemy bot lane in League of Legends.
