Originally from Los Angeles, California, Kate earned her B.A. in Film Studies and Government at Wesleyan University. Since then, she has explored various professional fields in major cities around the world: She managed a start-up elementary school in Nairobi, assisted the president of a Hollywood talent agency, and worked for an environmental policy nonprofit in San Francisco. She is also passionate about animal welfare and has directed humane education programs for kids and adults.
As a current student at Columbia Law School, Kate is preparing for a career in litigation. The summer after her 1L year, she interned for Public Counsel, the largest public interest law firm in the United States. This summer she will head to Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher as a summer associate.
Kate thoroughly enjoys writing and editing. She clearly remembers the excitement and stress of law school applications, and delights in guiding applicants through the process. The personal statement can be especially daunting, and she takes great pleasure in working with clients to develop persuasive essays that reflect their identities and maximize their admission chances.
In her free time, she enjoys jogging, dancing badly in Zumba classes, playing with her dog, eating vegan donuts, and wandering around museums.
