As a child, Kelly envisioned her ideal career to be an aerobic dance class instructor but decided that being a physician could be a good alternative. While Kelly can still be found Zumba-ing to youtube videos in her living room between Microbiology and Immunology exams, it seems that things have been tipping in favor of medicine. Kelly attended the University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Health and Societies as a pre-medical student, from where graduated summa cum laude with a GPA of 3.94/4.00. Throughout college, Kelly conducted clinical research in breast cancer both at Johns Hopkins and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and has been cited in several publications. After graduating, Kelly moved to New York City where she is now pursuing both an M.D. and a Master’s of Clinical Research in the Patient Oriented Research Training and Leadership program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Kelly has extensive tutoring experience, most recently teaching MCAT classes for a national tutoring corporation to college and post-graduate students. Her areas of expertise include biology, genetics, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, and critical reading. In addition to teaching high-yield MCAT content, Kelly helps students to set goals, establish individualized lesson plans, and develop critical MCAT test-taking strategies. Kelly has served as a pre-medical mentor to both high school and college students, and she has helped students craft their college and medical school applications. Kelly also has experience with subject tutoring, working as an official Chemistry and Biology tutor through the University of Pennsylvania’s tutoring center. She enjoys mentoring and tutoring students of all levels to help them reach their goals.
Besides Zumba, in her spare time, Kelly enjoys spinning, getting lost in Central Park, and discovering new restaurants.
