A native of Newton, MA, Lev (赵子柳) is of mixed Jewish-Chinese descent. He holds a B.A. in Chinese from Reed College. Prior to working with Cambridge Coaching, Lev served as the 2016-2017 Guizishan Research Fellow for the Yale-China Association. During that year, he taught freshmen and sophomores in the English department at Central China Normal University. Previously, he has held positions as Senior SAT and ACT instructor at Elite Scholars of China in Beijing and as Assistant Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Training at Summit Educational Group in Newton, MA. Lev is currently an MA student at Harvard in East Asia studies.
Lev took the SAT when he was 14 years old, and the ACT at 16. He has co-authored and edited several textbooks about the SAT, ACT, and other standardized tests, and specializes in literacy instruction for mainland Chinese applicants to U.S. universities. He has trained dozens of tutors and teachers to effectively instruct standardized tests, and has taught hundreds of students online, in the classroom, and in family dining rooms. At Cambridge Coaching, he is a specialist in the ACT, SAT, and GRE.
Lev feels equally at home in New England and the Pacific Northwest; he enjoys scuba diving, road biking, cooking, and tinkering with vintage stereo equipment.
