Manali is a California native who is making the most of her adventure on the east coast. While an undergraduate student at UC Davis she was faced with the difficult choice between veterinary school and medical school and through her experiences working in a research lab and in underserved communities, finally decided that medicine was the right choice for her. After graduating from UC Davis with a 3.91 GPA (high honors) and with her 38 MCAT score under her belt, she set off applying to medical schools in her gap year and found herself falling in love with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she is currently pursuing her M.D.
Manali has three years of extensive experience teaching classes and tutoring for all subjects of the MCAT, which is her all-time favorite standardized test (she can make you enjoy studying for it too!). She especially loves any and all things physiology related, which was her major in undergrad, and is currently the course representative for her med school physiology class. As a medical student, she continues to exercise her teaching skills by being involved with numerous outreach programs that teach science topics to middle and high schoolers, including MiNDS, MedDOCS, and Day with a Scientist.
In her spare time, you can find Manali cooking and devouring her famous stir fry, exploring restaurants and cat cafes in the city, binge watching various Netflix shows, and learning to play the ukulele.
