Marine-Ayan

Bio

Marine hails originally from France, but now, after passing through Quebec and Michigan as a child, she calls New Jersey home. She attended Cornell University and graduated in May of 2020 with a BA in Biology and a minor in Spanish. Upon graduation, she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa with a 4.0 GPA. During her time at Cornell, Marine spent much of her time researching the pathology of Calcific Aortic Valve Disease (CAVD) and consequently fell in love with the cardiovascular system. She has temporarily relocated to Manhattan, where she is spending her gap year before medical school.

Marine has tutored students as young as 7 years old and as old as 72. She has extensive experience tutoring for a range of science courses, though organic chemistry, biochemistry, and biology seem to constantly be battling it out for first place in her heart. Marine particularly enjoys the careful attention and support required to prepare students for large, stressful exams like the MCAT, and understands that every student has different needs and strengths. Her favorite part of tutoring the MCAT is creating a battle plan specific to her respective students, while simultaneously building a close and trusting relationship in the process.

Outside of her professional life, Marine has a deep passion for martial arts - she was her collegiate taekwondo team’s captain, and she’s currently exploring a variety of other martial arts, including boxing and Muay Thai. Marine also loves to paint, and when she is not doing either of the above, you can usually find her with her nose stuck in a book.

Testimonials

"Marine structured the tutoring sessions both short term (week by week) and long term (overall start to finish). It was designed to be challenging and to push me so I believe that even though I wasn't always able to complete every bit of homework, I was still getting enough completed to make an impact. I really liked how the syllabus was set up and how hard she pushed me to complete a lot each week. I also think her long term planning went really well where I felt like I had seen everything I needed to by the end of it. I feel as though each session was efficient and productive. Marine was always very flexible and would check in on multiple occasions to see if I was satisfied with how things were going. The Cambridge Coaching admin staff was extremely supportive and kind. You can tell they want the best for you!"
