Mark is originally from Northwest Indiana, 45 minutes away from where the Chicago Bears continue to break his heart every post-season. After living mostly nocturnally in various classrooms and laboratories for the better part of four years, he graduated from MIT with a 4.9/5.0 GPA (Tau Beta Pi) and was named AIChE’s MIT Outstanding Chemical Engineering Student of the Year. Bitten by the research bug during his experiences as an Amgen Scholar and Eloranta Fellow, he is currently pursuing a combined M.D./Ph.D. from the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology (HST) Program.
Mark has been tutoring for seven years and has worked with students of all ages, learning styles, and disabilities, including those with Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, and other learning deficiencies. His core strengths include the sciences, engineering, mathematics, and test preparation for the MCAT and SAT, but he also has extensive experience tutoring middle and high school students. In addition, he has mentored students as both an associate chemical engineering adviser and American Medical Student Association peer adviser. No matter what your tutoring/mentoring needs are, Mark can’t wait to help you reach your goals!
Outside of school, Mark enjoys running bridge loops around Boston while making new friends with the puppies he meets along his route, attempting to learn how to cook for himself, and getting back into powerlifting.
