Max is originally from Steamboat Springs, CO where he grew up skiing, hiking, biking, and climbing in the Rocky Mountains. He graduated Valedictorian of his high school class, and moved to New York City to attend Columbia University, where he majored in Philosophy. After graduating, he spent some time indulging his interest in theatre before spending two years in Japan teaching English through the JET Program. He returned to Columbia to complete his Certificate in Premedical Sciences, and is currently an MD/PhD candidate at Columbia, conducting his doctoral research in systems neuroscience.
Max has been passionate about teaching since he was in high school. He has extensive experience tutoring for math, science, writing and test preparation. He has worked professionally with students from age 5 to 85, from diverse backgrounds, and with various and varied learning styles.
Outside of tutoring and academics, Max enjoys reading, cooking, playing with his Australian Cattle Dog, and taking in the sights and sounds of New York City with his wife.
