When Md was 12 years old, he and his family moved from Bangladesh and settled in New York City. Md later attended the City College of New York and graduated magna cum laude in biochemistry. In college, Md was the President of the Baskerville Chemical Society and enjoyed volunteering in the Harlem community. Md’s interest in research grew as he learned about rare diseases, eventually leading him to do a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. At the NIH, Md researched drug metabolism and development for therapeutics entering clinical trials. Md is currently pursuing his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
During college, Md was a peer mentor for the Division of Science and tutored general and organic chemistry. Md also tutored middle and high school students in the greater Bethesda area in Maryland. Md learned English after coming to America, and this experience led him to volunteer at the Literacy Council of Montgomery, where he tutored English as a Second Language. At Cambridge Coaching, Md specializes in biology and chemistry.
In his spare time, Md enjoys walking around Central Park, exploring new places and volunteering.
