Niyi was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and immigrated to the United States when he was two years old. He attended high school in New Jersey and went on to major in chemistry at Amherst College. He completed an honors thesis in physical chemistry which focused on the conversion, storage, and use of light energy. At Amherst, Niyi played varsity football and also founded a chapter of the Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program. After Amherst, he took a year to engage in clinical research as a cardiology research assistant at Tufts Medical Center. Niyi is now a medical student at Harvard Medical School, where he aspires to pursue a career in surgery and global health.
Throughout his college career, Niyi had significant experiences in tutoring as both a chemistry lab and class TA as well as a pre-med mentor. At Cambridge Coaching, his core strengths include chemistry tutoring at both the high school and college level. He takes great joy in helping students succeed, and believes in forming great relationships that will encourage and inspire his students to do their best.
In his spare time, Niyi loves drawing, painting, cooking, baking, playing the piano, hiking, and generally staying active.
