Paul grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia in a house that contained twice as many musical instruments as people. After leaving high school a year early, he attended the University of Pennsylvania (go Quakers!) where he majored in mathematics. He was on Dean's List all 4 years, elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and received the Mathematics Department's two highest awards for an undergraduate. After completing both a Bachelors and Masters at UPenn in 2014, he came to MIT, where he is currently a Ph.D. student in the Mathematics Department.
At UPenn, Paul was both a private tutor as well as a TA for two classes. His specialty is mathematics, though he has also tutored chemistry and physics.
In his free time, Paul is an avid singer and performer. Formerly a member of the Penn Glee Club, he has taken on both paid and volunteer singing opportunities, and is currently a member of the Musical Theater Guild at MIT, and Musica Sacra, a classical choir based in Cambridge.
