Raul was born and raised in Lima, Peru, where he went to college and studied Economics. He then moved to NYC, where he received his MBA from Columbia Business School.
Before business school, Raul worked for 8+ years in a leading South American precious metal mining company, where he was part of both the Commercial and the Finance departments. During these years, Raul negotiated contracts for more than US$500mm, represented the company in many international events (Chile, USA, London) and evaluated the feasibility of projects and potential acquisitions valued at more than US$3b.
During high school, Raul played sports (swimming, basketball and volleyball) and represented Lima in national swimming tournaments. As a teenager, Raul started a rock band, where he played the drums for 5+ years. His proudest moments were while playing at popular local music festivals and they also recorded one album. Raul enjoys helping people, loves music and sports, (Go Giants!) and from time to time likes to seek some adrenaline (motorcycles, skydiving, etc.).
