Shivangi grew up in the beautiful Garden State far away from the Jersey Shore. After becoming an Emergency Medical Technician at 16, she knew that medicine was her passion. She attended MIT and studied Biology and Political Science, with some engineering classes thrown in the middle, and did research in biological microfluidic devices and prosthetic design. She graduated with a 4.9/5.0 and an invitation to Phi Beta Kappa. Shivangi is now an M.D. candidate at Harvard Medical School and president of the HMS/HSDM Student Council, and enjoys her research in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Shivangi has been tutoring students ranging from pre-schoolers to college students for 6 years. She is comfortable and excited to teach in a wide variety of subjects including SAT and MCAT preparation and Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics up to the college level. She is also a pre-med mentor and advisor to MIT and BU students, allowing her to share her experiences and guide future doctors along the way. Shivangi founded and ran a public health education program where she provided free CPR and basic life support education to middle and high-schoolers, and plans to focus on medical education throughout her career.
In her spare time, Shivangi enjoys dancing and watching documentaries!
