Sofia E.

Bio

Sofia grew up in Berkeley, CA, which explains her soft spot for worker-owned cooperatives and her remarkably high burrito standards. She majored in Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality at Harvard College. Upon graduation, Sofia was awarded a Harvard Traveling Fellowship to research listening through contact improvisation dance in Amsterdam.

Sofia has taught and tutored in a number of different capacities. As a campus education intern for the Harvard College Women's Center, she conducted weekly interactive workshops with student groups and administrators, deconstructing the gender binary and elucidating complex theories of gender and sexuality. In her work as a peer counselor and director of Contact Peer Counseling, Sofia developed and ran several trainings for her fellow peer counselors on topics related to gender, sexuality, and identity. Sofia loves being able to share strategies that can both change a student's outlook on an academic challenge and bring mastery within reach.

In her free time, Sofia enjoys biking, reading, baking bread, cooking (and sharing!) meals with friends, and taking leisurely walks.
