A yinzer (Pittsburgher, for those who don’t speak Pittsburghese) born and raised, Sonya is a recent graduate from the University of Pittsburgh. She graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a BS in Neuroscience and a BA in History and Philosophy of Science as well as minors in Spanish and Chemistry. Some highlights of her undergraduate career were completing her thesis in Traumatic Brain Injury research, serving as president of a cultural organization, and studying abroad in Spain. She is now an MD candidate at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, eager to continue her involvement in free clinics and global health as a medical student.
While at the University of Pittsburgh, Sonya was able to TA for several classes, including Human Physiology and Functional Neuroanatomy. Through another test prep firm, Sonya both tutored individuals and taught classes for the MCAT, DAT, and OAT for about two and a half years before joining Cambridge Coaching.
In her spare time, Sonya enjoys dancing, singing, and trying anything artistic that she sees on Pinterest. More than anything, she loves to talk to family, friends, and really anyone who strikes up a conversation!
