Tess grew up on the coast of Maine and spent her childhood summers devouring as many garage sale paperbacks as she could find. These stories stoked a curiosity about the world and love of language that has stayed with Tess her whole life. In 2019, she graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Education. When she wasn’t studying immigration policy or education theory, she taught English as a Second Language to adults at an immigrant rights advocacy center.
Tess followed her passion for international education to beautiful Madrid, Spain where she served as Fulbright scholar. Along with teaching English, Tess taught History, Social Studies, Music, and Biology to high schoolers. Tess believes that learning should be fun. Her students receive a strong foundation in English grammar and usage before diving into class debates, research projects, podcasts, novels, and conversation games. She also has over two years of experience tutoring American middle school students in Math and ELA.
When Tess isn’t in the classroom, you can find her making a giant mess in the kitchen, putting miles on her running shoes, or planning her next adventure.
