Tim was born and raised in lovely Laguna Beach, California. He graduated summa cum laude, with Highest Honors in Politics, from the University of California, Santa Cruz. After graduation, he headed East to study for a PhD in Political Science at Brown University. And though he misses California, he now gets to spend his time reading, writing, and teaching on international relations in an incredibly rich academic environment, and so is happy to call New England home.

Tim is passionate about teaching, and has availed himself of every opportunity at Brown to gain more pedagogical training and experience. He has served as a Teaching Assistant for four semester, lecturing, supervising written assignments, and providing academic guidance to students at Brown. He has also worked at Brown's Writing Center, assisting undergraduates, graduate students, and community members with their writing – from concept formation and framing, to grammar and syntax, to structure and organization. At the same time, Tim has completed two of the five year-long teaching certificate programs at Brown, and intends to complete all five before he finishes his PhD.

Outside of teaching, Tim enjoys exploring Boston and the rest of New England with his girlfriend. He is a loyal, yet long-suffering, fan of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, and often contemplates adopting a kitten.
