Tiwa graduated from Yale University with a BS in biomedical engineering with a focus on tissue engineering. As an undergraduate, she volunteered at a soup kitchen, performed cardiac tissue engineering research, built a website aimed at reducing health disparities, sang with a gospel choir, hosted radio shows, worked as an admissions tour guide, and volunteered at a hospice care center. After graduation, she participated in clinical research at the Yale Fertility Center, and volunteered at a non-profit that worked to reduce health disparities in children. Driven by her interest in medicine and service, Tiwa is now an MD candidate at Harvard Medical School.
