Vidya R.

Vidya grew up bouncing between India and the US, and has seen her fair share of small towns and sprawling cities.  After graduating from the University of Bombay in India, she went on to receive her MA and MPhil from Columbia in English Literature.  After graduating with two degrees, she decided to finish her time at Columbia by earning her PhD in English Literature, focusing on postcolonial and Marxist theory.

Vidya enjoys sharpening her students’ reading and writing skills, focusing on critical thinking, cross disciplinary approaches, and literary appreciation. She specializes in advanced courses in English language, including Theory of Knowledge for the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Advanced English language and literature for the Cambridge International Exams. Her pedagogical approach is based on the belief that each student is unique, and that every person's strength can be tapped with the correct guidance and support.

In her spare time, Vidya spends time with her family, reads and travels.  She takes an avid interest in classical music.
