Zinan grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and is currently a MD-PhD candidate at Harvard Medical School. He graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a BA in chemistry with certificates in neuroscience and global health and health policy. Based on his undergraduate thesis and exceptional performance in organic chemistry, he was awarded the Everett S. Wallis Prize in Organic Chemistry. His chemistry and biomedical research has been published in Nature Chemical Biology, Journal of Experimental Medicine, Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, and ACS Chemical Neuroscience.

Zinan has mentored Harvard, Princeton, University of Cambridge, and other international students on college and medical school admissions. He has also spent time tutoring organic and general chemistry at Princeton University as well as high school level chemistry, biology and math classes.

In his spare time, he likes to be outdoors hiking, swimming, biking, running, or rock climbing.
