Zoe was born in New York City and grew up in Westport, CT. In high school, Zoe was an avid debater and was also interested in science, earning the Connecticut Society of Women Engineers Award. She attended Columbia University, where she graduated cum laude from Columbia College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biophysics and a concentration in Philosophy. In college, Zoe developed a passion for community service and began volunteering in clinics and emergency rooms around New York City and Connecticut. She was also heavily involved in both bench and clinical research and dabbled in the arts as a member of the Columbia Musical Theater Society.
Zoe is currently an MD/MBA dual degree candidate at Columbia University’s College of Physicians & Surgeons and Columbia Business School. In medical school she has continued to give back to the community as a leader of Columbia Student Medical Outreach, a free clinic for the uninsured in Washington Heights. She is going into family medicine.
Zoe has been teaching since 9th grade, when she started as a drama coach at her local summer camp. At Columbia, Zoe was an SAT tutor for Let’s Get Ready!, where she learned how to make math fun and not scary. She also served as a Teaching Assistant for Developmental Biology at Columbia, tutoring her peers in complex biological concepts and leading review sessions for exams. She has been a member of Cambridge Coaching since 2012, and has tutored middle school, high school and college students in math, chemistry, and physics, as well as the SAT, SAT IIs, and the MCAT.
