Her dual passions for biophysical and chemical pathogens research led her to the Harvard-MIT MD/PhD program, where she is currently a NIH-funded MSTP student in the Health Sciences and Technology track.

Sara is a poet, educator, and scholar. She holds a BA in English (Wesleyan) and an MFA in Poetry (Iowa Writers' Workshop). She is currently working on her PhD in English at the CUNY Graduate Center.
