Born and raised in New Jersey, Alice first left home to attend the University of Scranton. She majored in Biochemistry and Cell and Molecular Biology and graduated summa cum laude and Alpha Sigma Nu. Alice then moved to St. Louis to work as a research assistant at Washington University. During this year, she honed her research skills in preparation for her future career as a physician scientist. Alice eventually decided to return home to the east coast where she is currently pursuing a combined MD/PhD at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Alice has been tutoring and working as a teaching assistant for five years and enjoys working with students 1-on-1 as well as in slightly larger group settings. Her passion for tutoring lies in teaching students how to solve difficult problems and helping students develop confidence in their own ability to tackle confusing concepts or questions. Alice specializes in biology, immunology, chemistry, and test preparation for the MCAT and USMLE Step 1 exams. Alice also enjoys coaching students for MD or MD/PhD admissions. In the past, she has coached students on how to prepare a complete and well-rounded application for medical school. More recently, she has directly worked with MD/PhD admissions by interviewing applicants and participating in admissions committee meetings where she has gained further insight into the process. Alice will enthusiastically bring all she has to the table to help students further their academic and professional aspirations.
Outside of work and school, you can find Alice working out in the gym to keep up with her other passion of sampling all the different and wonderful food New York City has to offer.
