Ayana first fell in love with writing in her childhood diary--creating the life stories of imaginary characters, toys, and the strangers of New York City. Following her visions of the future, Ayana left the hustle and bustle of the city to attend Northfield Mount Hermon School, a college prep boarding school in western Massachusetts. She stayed in New England to attend Dartmouth College and study National Traditions and Counter Traditions of English Literature. One of her favorite campus activities was managing the Institute for Writing and Rhetoric office where students received peer to peer written feedback, face-to-face consultations, and other support on drafts of writing, speaking, and research projects.
Now as a Senior Product Strategist for Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington, DC; Ayana is known for bringing stakeholders together through strong business narratives. She keeps contributing to others at the center of her personal mission by continuously mentoring and teaching students as they develop their writing talent. Ayana has 7 years of experience mentoring middle school to college students and particularly enjoys teaching students how to find their literary voice. Whether it be with persuasive, creative, or strategic writing, Ayana takes pride in using words to compel a range of audiences.
When Ayana isn’t mentoring or bringing products to market, you can find her running home for a quick fix of NYC, finishing a D.I.Y project, or bravely altering a new recipe.
