Humza Zubair was born and raised in Tempe, Arizona, in the heart of the Valley of the Sun. He graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University, double majoring in Medicinal Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences. Humza’s passion is mentorship and education; he aspires to be a physician scientist and a guide to future generations of students, in both medicine and research. Humza spent over five years in a research lab, published three first-authored full-length publications as an undergraduate, and won the Amgen and Goldwater scholarships. He is now an MSTP (MD/PhD) candidate at the University of California Los Angeles.
Humza has served as a resource and mentor to fellow undergraduate students seeking to delve into medicine and research. He has helped numerous students navigate premedical classes, find undergraduate research positions, and explore clinical opportunities. Humza also specializes in test preparation for the MCAT and guiding applicants throughout the application process and interviews, whether they be for MD or MD/PhD programs.
In his free time, Humza can be found hiking and exploring the outdoors, lifting weights, or learning and practicing new languages.
