When Joe was in middle school, he downloaded an episode of Scrubs on his iPod Video and the rest is history. What followed has been a lifelong journey towards becoming a doctor. Joe was the valedictorian at his high school, the Academy for Allied Health Sciences in New Jersey, before attending the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied Biological Basis of Behavior, graduating summa cum laude. At Penn, Joe received both academic achievement and research awards within the Biological Basis of Behavior program. After Penn, he attended Harvard Medical School, where he developed a love for psychiatry. Joe currently is a psychiatry resident at Columbia and seeks to work with individuals with developmental disabilities in his future career.
Joe’s interest in working within education as a tutor and mentor began early on when he was a child, starting out by helping his mother tutor students in his childhood home. This passion continues today with Joe’s work within medical education on curriculum development, creation of learning modules, and participation in mentoring projects. With Cambridge Coaching, Joe works with individuals at all steps along their journey of becoming a physician, bringing years of mentoring experience to make the complex process of applying to medical school more manageable.
Outside of his clinical and academic work, Joe enjoys brewing his own beer, collecting vinyl records and exploring New York City.
